MEET THE PIGS!

Pinkie and Brownie were our first two Pigs. We raised them from a young age and now have several more pig additions. Pinkie and Brownie have made beautiful piglets in every color. My favorite is Silver. Which one do you like best?

Are They Really Mini? How Big Do They Get?

Yes. These are true “mini pigs”, but the size of mini pigs varies. You can get a good idea of how big a mini pig will be by seeing the mom and dad. Average height for a mini pig is 15 inches and the average weight is 50 pounds. Genetics, the environment, their lifestyle and how much they are fed can affect their size.

What is the Temperament of a Mini Pig?

Mini Pigs can be affectionate, intelligent and playful. They are quick learners and can learn tricks and routines. They each have a unique personality. Mini Pigs can form strong bonds with people and require social interaction to avoid being bored, restless or depressed. They love to run around wagging their tails, raise their mohawks when they want their back scratched and roll over for a belly rub.

How Many Babies Are In A Litter?

The number of piglets in a litter varies. The color, gender and number of Piglets is always a surprise. If you are looking for a specific gender or color, just let us know.

Can Mini Pigs Live Inside?

Yes, Mini Pigs can live inside if they have enough space, the right environment and proper enrichment. If kept solely indoors, provide a designated area for bedding, opportunities for digging and mental stimulation and an area for their litter box/going potty. Mini Pigs can be trained to go potty outside. Mini Pigs love playing outdoors in a secure area to root and explore.

Are Pigs Comfortable Around Other Animals?

Our pigs are raised socializing with other animals, people and children. Our pigs are friendly with all the animals here on our farm but get along best with other pigs. As with any new addition, you want to start slow and supervise their interactions. Since dogs are predators and pigs are prey animals, you want to be mindful during their introduction in a controlled environment and use positive verbal reinforcement.

What Do Mini Pigs Eat?

Mini Pigs are omnivores eating both plant and animal protein. A Mini Pig’s diet should consist of a nutritionally balanced feed specific for pigs. In addition, Mini Pigs enjoy a variety of fruits and vegetables. Portion control is essential. The recommended quantity of feed is 1-2% of the pig’s ideal body weight.
